Carrizo Plain Loop 2011

Morro Bay --> Santa Margarita --> Las Pilitas Nursery --> Carrizo Plain --> enjoying the 166/33. 14-16 April. full picasa. The main purpose was to go to the nursery to get some Bishop pines and manzanita for Sara's research. We were a little late for flowers in Carrizo but it was pretty good near the visitor's center.

Blazers 2 - Mavs 2

Dunno if they can win the series, but the comeback in game 4 was pretty amazing.

Werner Herzog / Rock Art / Fresh Air / OnionAV

I love rock art, petroglyphs and pictographs. So a documentary by Werner Hertzog about a cave in France sounds great! And talking about it with Terry Gross...

The OnionAV interview is great, too.

Simple Soup

Stock, leeks, carrots, garlic, ginger, kale stems, brown rice, miso. No browning, just simmering.
old miso that Izaya brought me from Japan about 4 years ago
Ate it with Shoyu and homemade hot sauce -- made it kind of like hot and sour soup with the vinegar and hot chilies. Good, cause I'm sick -- see below, at school with a tissue up my nose so I don't have to wipe so much....

Foggy East Camino Cielo

I finally got to try out my new-to-me Marmot Bastille last weekend. It was supposed to be a quick trip to the SB backcountry and then a hike on the Blue Canyon trail. But our timing was bad, foggy up top made for slow driving, so we just camped on the side of the road. In the morning the fog was still thick, so we bailed. C'est la vie.

Lebovitz in Switzerland

Very, very cool post about a swiss restaurant.
