Santa Cruz Island, March 2015

Scorpion anchorage

We went out to SCI in March, to take down the Sauces weather station with Doug and look at the pine mortality due to the crazy drought we are in. It's so nice out there. We stayed an extra day to go to this special secret beach on the south shore. The road was crazy. Snorkled and beach combed. We got a flat on the way out + no air in the spare, walked some and then were rescued by one of the blue jay crew guys in Rust, the FJ-40.  Here's a vid of bird song around the field station:
