NPR Monday Night

'Twas a good night for NPR, 3 stories caught my ear.

Dom Deluise died. He has a great role in the end of Blazing Saddles, directing gay dancers who are rehearsing in a sound stage, until they are interrupted by the fight between the towns people and the outlaws which spilled over from an adjacent movie set. That is a terrible sentence, but an awesome scene. He also was great in Cannonball Run, which is a decent enough road movie and a very decent comedy. The Muppet Movie and Johnny Dangerously are certainly no slouches either...

Pepsico is making Pepsi with (gasp) real sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. Now obviously it is a SAD day when using refined white sugar is a step up from what you have been using, but this is still a pretty interesting story.

Lastly. For Sara. A story about drawing/dinner parties. Pretty cool.

  1. I come from a family of doodlers, what can i say?
The minute my dad picked up the phone, he'd reach for a pen and back of an envelope or napkin or whatever, and doodle while chatting. The kitchen table was always sprinkled with little pieces of paper with abstract drawings of sorts. I regret not keeping those pieces of paper. So, I will bring crayons to the next gathering, k? i am guilty of being one of those non-doodlers, not cause i think i am no good, but because i, well, i'm not sure why. can i blame school?
